Barn Arts Teaching Artist Programs
Barn Arts brings together students, educators, and artists through teaching artist programs that recognize learning as an act of creativity. |
In the fall, we begin conversations with educators to understand more about how arts programming can support their work in the classroom. Through conversations, research, and site visits, we learn about the curriculum, the environment, and the class culture to start planning for what we can make together. Then in the winter, we design programs that are custom-built for each ensemble of student artists. We draw from a diverse network of professional artists to create programs that are tailor-made for the young people that we serve. In the spring, we travel to schools, libraries, and community centers to meet young artists where they are and find out where we can go together. |
Barn Arts teaching artist programs culminate in community events that take the form of performances, screenings, exhibitions and openings. |
