The Community School

After a successful collaboration in the midst of the lockdown in the spring of 2020, Barn Arts began planning for in-person collaborations with the Community School, which has been a creative and educational partner since 2015. This year’s work was focused on two different classes who performed in April, 2021. 

In All of Us

​For four weeks, Barn Arts Artistic Director Andrew Simon worked every day with the 10 students in the Intertidal class (grades 3-5) to adapt an original epic poem for a site-specific performance. The piece, which was entitled In All of Us, was created in collaboration with Jasmine Smith, the founder of the Community School, and focused on themes of light and darkness and the way they manifest in each of us and in the world around us.
